Hi Guys,

Not directly attributed to Ubuntu, but we've discussed it nonetheless. Me and a group of friends decided to do a podcast dedicated to local technology news and events. We basically call it the "Pinoy Tech Podcast" but we're open for better names. We've set up a blog at http://pinoytechpodcast.blogspot.com/ where you can download the MP3 or M4A copy of the first episode, or you can also stream it online on the main page. We're going to put RSS and iTunes support by the next episode, scheduled to be recorded Feb. 27 and released the next day.

Our plan is to have this biweekly, or every 2 weeks. If we get traction, we'll change the scheds as needed.

Also, your feedback would be very valuable in improving the show. Please feel free to give suggestions for topics in the future.

Again, the site is at http://pinoytechpodcast.blogspot.com/

I apologize in advance for the quality of the audio. My mic got busted in the last minute so I had to use the built in mic of my computer, and of course, since its our first episode, its quite raw, but I think this is a good thing.

Thanks!

ang cute naman ng avatars.:lolflag: sino kaya dito si mr.C++ at mr.dot net

Hehe they're pretty well known in their fields. Dean works at Friendster while Jon is a recognized .NET expert. Aileen works for Google and Migs is pretty much one of the people behind the introduction of the Internet in the Philippines and currently a mobile software architect.

#4

currently somewhere in the middle of the track.. :)

#5

listening while at work...

#6

Nice :D

Local Diggnation. hehe

#7

Skype??? Oh my! What platform? Ayos internet connections ninyo ah. Baka taglilimang libong DSL yan. hehe.

More power to you guys and girl. Optimistic ako rito. Sana, lumaki 'to at dumami ang sumuporta. Kailangan natin ng ganto dahil pang-Filipino context eh.

#8

Hi wersdaluv, its just Skype with ordinary DSL lines. I just mixed everything and added the opening/closing music on a Mac with Garage Band after.

We'll have it biweekly. So far we've had good response on the pilot with nice download data as well.

More power.... more episodes.... more lahat.... :)

Wala pa nung myx wala pa nung MTV Wala pa nung internet Wala pa nung ipod at mp3 Wala pa nung cable Wala pa nung cellphone Wala pa ring cd or dvd Meron lang betamax

:guitar:

GO BETAMAX....may betamax pa kayang gumagana ngayon? VHS nalang inabutan ko;)

#11

Recently lang naman naging obsolete ang Betamax, mga 12 years ago lang :) so meron pa din mga Betamax players na functional. Actually madami niyan sa Japan.

Did you know that Beta was a superior format compared to VHS? But we all know the story that VHS eventually won the first format war :)

#12

I was listening to it during my break.

Good job guys.

#13

cool... i think betamax is still useful.. try to think kng betamax ang gagamitin u to record video where in you dont want others to see. ayos dba. kc magpapakahirap pa yng ibang tao maghanap ng player ng betamax pra lang mapanood yng video. heheheh peace. parang password na sakit sa ulo bago u madecode. hahaha... joke...

Hi Guys,

Thanks for taking time to listen and support the podcast! We hope you enjoyed listening to every episode as much as we enjoyed recording them. If you have any comments/suggestions or even questions, do let us know by email at feedback@pinoytechpodcast.com or you can also send me a private message.

As for the streaming of the audio, this is actually possible if you go straight to the Internet Archive link. For some reason, the Internet Archive is not generating the HTML that I need so that I would be able to embed the player from HTML.

If you're using any RSS reader, you can add this feed: http://feeds2.feedburner.com/PinoyTechPodcastRSS

#28

Hahaha no its not like that, like I said, I have 2 laptops running Ubuntu full time, one of it is in Jaunty, so I'm still pretty much in the game.

#29

Episode 04 is out. We discuss about 15 years of Internet in the Philippines. On March 29, 1994, a 64kbps direct Internet connection to the United States was established by PHNET signaling the entry of the Philippines to the online world.

BTW, Ogg Vorbis is now supported as well.
