I am wondering if anyone knows of any decent software for aerodynamic modeling. Er, at least I think its aerodynamic modeling. What I want to do is model the airflow over the windshield on my motorcycle. I don't really need to get crazy accurate and have an actual motorcycle model in the program. A program that would allow me to have a simple 2-D plot of a flat plane about 2' long at various angles and with any protrusions that I might tack on there to see how the air would change.

I get some buffeting when I ride and I have seen these add-ons for windshields but I have different ideas and I'd like to see what would happen.

Thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you can look at OpenFOAM for doing CFD Modeling.

But as far as I know, there isn't anything for doing really easy 2-D plots of flow over a windshield. I think you have to program a bit to get it to work no matter what.

Hrmm, ok, I was hoping for something like FoilSim where I can move the object around. But, I guess it would take some programming as you alter the shape of the object.

I'll take a look at that OpenFOAM...
