If anyone is interested, I've brutely backported gnome-power-manager on breezy through editing the debian control file and the configure file to meet's breezy's demands. So far the program compiled and installed successfully. I have not had a chance to extensively test it but it appears to work at least hibernate and suspend work. I don't know if it will lack many of the new features (probably will). If anyone is interested in it, please let me know and I'll send you the .deb as I don't have any webhosting space.

No I meant .3.1 I don't think thats backported.

This would be great. for some strange reason, the backported gnome-power-manager, locks the screen when I choose hibernate/suspend, so I need to use the gnome menu entry instead...

I finally found some webspace here is the "backported" deb: http://damian.youareadopted.com/gnome-power-manager_0.3.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
