hi i am using ubuntu 8.10 and ihv installed dcpp in it. the problem is that it doesnt index the files the files i have shared and i have to hash the files every time i logon plz help me also tell me if there is any other better direct connect applicatins in linux

I assume you question is regarding DC++.
Have you used the latest version (v 0.7091 ) under wine ?
Other alternatives to DC which you can consider are oDC++. oDC is an acronym for Opera's DC++ which is based on the popular Direct Connect clone DC++.
