Hello! Im planning to make a re-master of ubuntu. Changing alot of the features then I plan to re-release it.
I was wondering: Are there any legal issues with doing this? I know its open source and everything but I would rather check!
And also, I know that the GNU licence says you have to provide the source code of your system. How would I go about doing that? Do I provide the ubuntu source and a list of changes made or is it more involved then that?

Only legal issue is that if you plan to use unsupported packages (ie, packages that aren't in the repo or are changed), then you can't use *buntu in the name. The source code is provided for each program in Ubuntu's repo, so as long as thats provided then your good.

Hey, I'm making a distro for my Girlfriend based on Mint 8, but I don't know how to change the name of it in the system info, and grub and stuff, how could i go about changing any configurations and stuff that says "Linux Mint" to "My Distro"?
