newer G5 iMac's freezes of mouse & kboard may be SOLVED

Hi folks,:KS We finally did it ! KUBUNTU KDE DESKTOP IS "UP" ON OUR MONTHS OLD G5 iMac 17" LCD FLAT SCREEN PC.:KS

After over 3 (three) very long round the clock monts of batteling to get God knows how many LonM (Linux on Mac) OS's to finally get us to a GUI Desktop we managed the impossible this very morning between 4.30 AM and 5.30 AM CST Dapper Drake, gracefully finally lifted off and flew to the KDE Desktop without freezing up our Wired USB Mouse and Keyboard.

Pop Kelly ...... suspects that Kubuntu Breezy Preview and Final and possibly Ubuntu Breezy on these newer G5's has the same problem, see our post in the Dapper Drake Dev part of the forum for A few KDE related details on how to stop the freeze up's.

:KS The freezes are caused by ........ now wait for it....

It's the DESKTOP SOUND DAMEON !:o

Can you post the instructions you followed for me? I can't seem to find the sound daemon file you had to rename or something. It was the artsd file or something like that, right? I too, have a G5 iMac and if I can't get Ubuntu loaded on it, I'm selling it.
