Proposal: Changing a presentation course on the go

"This is an idea of a new extension, add-in or built-in feature to be added to software applications like OpenOffice.org Impress, Microsoft Powerpoint or Apple Keynote.

The purpose is to allow the presenter to change the course of the presentation during the presentation itself, in such a way that it does not interrupt the presentation and it is done without the audience knowledge. This of course, requires the use of "presenter tools"/"presenter view mode"."

Sounds useful, but it would require the use of two screens (one for the presentation, one for the app), which most projectors aren't able to handle.

This would seem to be a feature that not only required OpenOffice work but also defining a standard for interacting with this type of presentation. This is primarily because I am concerned with all the popular bluetooth based next slider clicker gadgets that are out there in use. We would want this to be backwards compatible with the tools presenters use in the field.
