How to Update Safely

My last installation of Ubuntu was corrupted because of power failure last time during update is there any way that i download the update and install them later on. I just cant let it download and then take an hour to update because its all is on the risk. Is there any way that available update can be selected easily from the update manager i can't unselect each and every available to download some of them

Is there any way that available update can be selected easily from the update manager i can't unselect each and every available to download some of them If your installation was corrupted because of a power shortage during the update, you'll be exposed to the same risk even if you download the packages and then update later on. That's because the updater downloads all the packages and then, after download is finished installs them.

What you can do is select single packages to download from the update app. I've never done it myself, but I see you can check/uncheck the updates to download.

So, unless I'm missing your point, that's the only "solution" to your problem.
