I am still having a few issues. When I start the machine up it does not go into a graphical login. I have to login and then do a startx to get to the desktop. I would like to get there all the time. I want to be able to add a shutdown instead of a logout. I want to show my mother how to use the computer and a logout would just confuse her.

I tried to install Dapper but it got done with 84% after the disc was ejected and just stopped so I decided to load Ubuntu 5.10 and it installed and got to the graphical login but then just goes to a brown background and stops. I was going to try this and then install KDE on top of this but we will see what happens.
I found out that my problem was a date bug. Once I reset this it allowed me to login just fine. Below is the link I found while searching other people that were having the same problem.
