Update

The development branch I linked to has apprently been removed, but N8K99 posted with:

you can get the latest version of KDE for Breezy from this website http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-351.php you can also find the KOffice 1.5 Beta at this webpage http://kubuntu.org/announcements/koffice-15beta1.php

Both packages install onto a ppc- I am running Kubuntu 5.10 on a Ti Powerbook, and there are some bugs in KOffice but it is the Beta! File the bugs you find and they will get fixed!

The links should contain all the information needed to pull from the (stable/offical) KDE 3.5 repo.

I'm using the following

deb http://kubuntu.org/packages/kde35

(http://kubuntu.org/announcements/kde-35.php) However when I do the sudo apt-get upgrade I get "The following packages have been kept back:" and a load of kde packages are listed...

Any ideas?

The repository linked there is the main (stable) kubuntu branch, which only has packages for x86. The repository I linked to in my post is a development (unstable) repo, which has the KDE 3.5 packages built for ppc (mac). Synaptic won't be able to install any packages contained in the stable repo.

Thanks a lot for the link;

Yesterday I installed Kubuntu because I heard that KDE 3.5 was very good and that it was a good choice for a workstation. So its perfect for programming on Kdevelop in programmation classroom on my iBook.

So thats what I was searching, a KDE 3.5 ppc repo, and for the moment all runs very good for me :-)

Its faster, navigation on konqueror is also faster, and the taskbar seems more preety ^^

Regards

Good catch N8K99, I came back to say that, but you beat me! :) Updated the main post, and gave you credit for the information.

I am 'fuzzy' certain '/fuzzy' that Kubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger is KDE 3.4 as Canonical seems to prefer to release the stable version of packages with the current release, this is irregardless of hardware selection by the end-user. So i386 and 686 both have 3.4 as standard - Dapper Drake will come with 3.5.

Please correct me on this matter if I have it wrong.

PS Thanx for the footnote! ;-)
