It sorta reminds me of the day we kicked off the mass rebuild for gcc 4.4 in Fedora. It took more than 3 days to compile everything on every platform.
I remember when we could do that in a day, even with faster machines we just have much more delicious software now.

Well were now at 1409 in the AMD64 que. Hope those build servers have good cooling in the racks! :)

Right, so they're large clusters owned by launchpad that are being used to compile all the packages for karmic.
Can someone explain why canonical has a build farm?

Its still going - almost five days straight - theres now 299 builds in the que.
only 162 left, looking forward to getting all these updates :)

Well its finished but theres lots of FTBS - failed to build from source so it needs big fixup.
Hmmm well round two has over 400 builds in the que and I still notice a number of FTBS issues in the build log.
