If Ubuntu One had a more ranged focus on the client side, like clients for other operating systems. (Windows, OS X, Android?) I would love to see one on android. then i could sync my phones pictures and videos without even thinking. Just snap and wait. I hope that the source will be released so that we could make our own. If anyone wants to work on an android port then I would be interested in even paying for such an app.

For me, Ubuntu One is not an option at all unless it supports other operating systems. I move between Windows, Ubuntu and Mac OSX. I am just starting to use dropbox to facilitate this. Were Ubuntu One compatible with Windows at least I'd move there, and be happy to pay for the service too, because dropbox's basic plan is far beyond my needs and they are showing no signs of offering a paid plan for <50GB of storage. And I'd like to support Canonical.

At school I have to use windows because of school related programs.
On further investigation, I am now using SpiderOak - which is awesome, combining backup with multiple shares of any folders you like, rather than having just one shared folder that is the same on every computer. Furthermore it works on several distributions of Linux, Windows and Mac.
Ubuntu One may do the job for some people. But for me I must have access to my files from a range of operating systems, and even were I only using Ubuntu machines right now I would not commit to a service that only supported Ubuntu, just in case I got a different machine in future.
Which is unfortunate, as I would like to support Canonical.

First off, it's still in beta, so you have to give it a little room to grow.
Secondly, I found that using the web interface and firefox I can actually upload files from a Windows XP machine. Not as nice as a client on there would be, but still usefull in it's own way.
