I'm getting this message about security and ssl which I've searched in a few places on google and found this page describing it:

http://support.mozilla.com/ko/kb/Could+not+initialize+the+browser+security+component

I don't recall ever seeing it before and mostly am wondering if others have run into this with upgrading firefox on ubuntu 9.04 32bit. I tried all the fixes they list like permissions, corruption of the db files, disk space. None of those are the culprits.

Happens when I click on mailto: links. Perhaps the original firefox has the same issue. Not sure.

Just a minor update if it matters...

I notice that the mails go through if thunderbird is already open. It just seems to happen when thunderbird is not running and firefox has to "spawn" a compose window. I'm not sure about all this; but wanted to provide what I've observed in one test :)

try running with a fresh profile, and see if the issue persists.

Hi-

I'll give this a try here in a bit and report back. Thanks for the response.
