Firefox 3.5.2 The dreaded no java

Using 64 bit Ubuntu and firefox 3.5.2 and the sun java plugin isn't picked up by firefox.

I tried removing and installing all jre componets and still no joy. Flash works okay and the java is in the plugin directory. Looking at the sun console it's pointing to the wrong location for firefox but won't let me change it.

Ahh suddenly discovered flash isn't working either. God knows when that broke. Anyway uninstalling Ubuntuzilla and going back to firefox 3.0.13 fixed it.

Tried the other solutions but none worked.

LOL one very confused system. Still wanting firefox 3.5.2 I tried another method of upgrading to 3.5.2. That also failed so I removed went back synaptic and removed all versions of firefox.

Re-installed and bingo a proper working version of 3.5.2.
