Hey Massachusetts Advocates,

Do you have some free time coming up? A burning desire to help the Ubuntu community and education and inform the public about their computing options?

If you live and/or work in Massachusetts and use Ubuntu, then your exactly the kind of person we need to help with the Massachusetts Local Community. In particular these are the outstanding jobs:

* Volunteers to teach Ubuntu familiarity lessons, Tuesday evenings * Programmers to help out with the website (python) * organizer for the Karmic Release Party * organizer for an Installfest * organizer for Ubuntu Jam Week events (bug day, etc) * Writer and editor for news and events to go on website and sent to list. * Social networking co-ordinator to official be the one to post news and hype up everything to all social networking outlets. * Satellite organizers to get other towns and cities organized into using Ubuntu.

If you can help, then reply here, we need to hear from dedicated individuals who want to see Ubuntu and Free and Open source software succeed in Massachusetts. Because we _do_ need your help, we don't have enough dedicated people to do good events and fix some of the technical issues.

I want to help! I am interested in organizing Installfests, and I love social networking too :) Let me know what I can do to help the rest of the world "get linux'd". I've done many installs on my own for friends and co-workers, and passed out 50+ Ubuntu LiveCDs in recent months. Please contact me chris@izeropoint.com or hyperdelivery@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I'll be happy to help. I live on Martha's Vineyard and most likely not be able to attend any physical meetings but I am interested in being a local advocate. What is the next logical step for me?

Hey I'm a Mass developer and I would love to learn python by contributing to the website!

Hey. I live in the Worcester area. I'm new to Ubuntu and Linux, and have a lot to learn, but I am the founder of BrokenWindowStudios.com, a webcomic and digital media website, where I do all my work in Ubuntu, using free software. I plan on talking a lot more about using Linux and free software, and educating others interested in getting into digital art that you dont have to break the bank in order to get into the field.

I'd love to help out any way I can and use the opportunity to learn more about Ubuntu.

Is there a regularly scheduled Cambridge/Boston user meeting?

Greetings all.

I'm a software developer and computer enthusiast from Boston (Back Bay). I've been using Ubuntu since the very first (warty) release.

I work for Canonical and would love to get involved with some local Ubuntu events.

I just joined the ubuntu-us-ma mailing list and can also be found on freenode.

regards,
