Hi, I'm new here but have been using ubuntu for about 3 months or so. I am visually impaired and can see very little. I'v tried Orca, which is pretty bad to be honest as it very very very choppy and slow. I then found the desktop Zoom option in Compiz and have been able to use that quite well but it's still not as good as the software that I'm using in Windows(which is the wart I'm trying to rip off). the biggest thing it doesn't do is text scalling. for example when I scroll in text get's blurry. In windows this doesn't happen. any one know of a workaround for this? or something else I can try that will work better?

When I finish my CS degree I'm sure I'll be able to fix this but that's 4years away.

Thanks so much!!!!

Hi yuio.

Use the shortcut keys to zoom in- ctrl and + .

That only works in Firefox from what I can tell. I need the entire desktop and all programs magnified so that i can use it better.
