Thanks for the request :)

Saying that - it looks like there is already a Washington Team forum set up - not to mention it has to be the LoCo Contact that requests the forum to be set up (found on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamList )

Thanks!

Wrong Washington ;) We're Washington State, that's Washington DC

#4

Ah of course - my mistake, sorry! :) I'll check everything asap

#5

Can we get an update or ETA on the new subforum? We're all excited over at the WA LoCo. :D

I'll sort it now :D

Just to confirm you want the following:

http://washingtonteam.ubuntuforums.org/ (maybe http://washington.ubuntuforums.org/ or http://wa.ubuntuforums.org/ may be better?) LoCo Mods are to be chuckw & althara

If that's all correct - I'll go ahead and create it now :)

It's all done, though there seems to be a minor niggle in server synchronization :) I'll try and get this sorted ASAP, though the forum can be found at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=380

The redirect may take a little longer to come into effect :) If you have any issues - let me know.

I presume this is related to the server synchronization issue, but when I try to access http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=380 it's telling me:

althara, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

  • Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  • If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

And, presumably due to the same issue, the URL redirect goes to the main forum page: Ubuntu Forums

I can give everything a try again in a few hours if you think it's just a delayed prorogation issue.

Thanks for your help. :)

The error message is indeed due to the server sync issue :( sorry!

As for the sub-domain, that requires apache2 to be reloaded (so as to load the new file with your subdomain in). I've arranged for that to be done ASAP :)

#11

Thanks for the info. No worries on the syncing. I'm sure it'll get worked out soon. :)

Is there a reasonable time frame after which I should ping you if everything is not working as expected?

#12

err as per loco rules(1), it should be washington.ubuntuforums.org.

(1)https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoTeamHowto

but thats not really very important.

#13

Oh, darn. Would it be terribly difficult to change the URL?

#14

Not at all. Doesn't look like apache has been restarted yet, so it's not a big issue :)

#15

Awesome. Thank you!

#16

Looks like the subdomain is now up and working :D

Enjoy guys!
