Skins for a Learning Disability.

Hi guys, Im from the UK and work with adults who have learning disabilities, I'm basically looking for a simple to use OS with images rather than text as the person im looking for can not read or right.

This would hopfully be something that would help the person have the full use of a computer, I'm currently looking into making a web browser which would use images and speech recognition software, so that if we said "movies" or pressed on a movie icon on a touch sceen monitor that the browser would direct them to movies to steam on the net, like youtube, or perhaps movies saved on the HDD.

Could ubuntu do this for me? or does anyone have any ideas on where i could get a skin for an operating system or software which could help.

I would be very greatfull of any feedback or ideas.

I'm not sure exactly what you need but it might be worth taking a look at an operating system called Qimo. It's designed for young children but could, I guess, be adapted. I've never tried using it but I think it might be a good place for you to start. it's based on Ubuntu.
