Idaho Forum Request

Hello:

I am the team mentor for Idaho LoCo and I would like to request a forum. Please make me the moderator until I find a person from Idaho to take over that role.

Sometimes on Google I see URLs like "virginina.ubuntuforums.org"

What's what about? Is that the same thing the OP here wants but for Idaho?

Ubuntu forums offer teams the ability to have their own subdomain for ubuntuforums.org. It provides the LoCo with a friendly URL to give out to people they meet at conferences and installfests. It's much easier for you to remember and give out this:

http://florida.ubuntuforums.org

instead of giving out:

http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=225

This allows for the team to have a central forum, that is cost-free, and always (99.999) available. Believe it or not, many people from the state, as they begin clicking on both getting involved links, and getting help links somehow wind up to their states LoCo forums. If the Idaho team doesn't have their own slice within Ubuntu Forums, then they could potentially be losing out on some potential members/contributors.

The request needs to come from a LoCo Team Contact - I tried checking if that happens to be yourself, but was unable to find out from your nick & the wiki page, so apologies if you are one of the contacts.

To confirm this, could you please follow the instructions in the PM I sent?

As for the rest, it all looks good, except the user profile you linked to for the moderator - who hasn't been active since August '09. It does appear that adding a '5' to the end of the URL gives your profile though, which is what I assume you intended?

Once we've got this sorted I can go ahead and create the forum for you

I have created the forum, which can be found at http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=398

It will take a while longer for the idaho.ubuntuforums.org URL to work, I will edit this post when that is done :)
