I was thinking that a booth at the state fair would be a great idea to demonstrate the benefits of the functionality of Ubuntu. We could have a couple laptops showcasing the various Ubuntu flavors and maybe we could give out cds. I was thinking something professional. Like the attending loco members wearing ubuntu polos or t-shirts and a banner or two. Maybe also you could have some of those nifty bumper stickers. I dunno just a thought.

Anything like this would be nice.

That sounds like fun, but if I remember from other organizations I've worked with, getting a booth at the state fair isn't cheap. We would probably have to fundraise from the group members.

This could be really fun! When/where is the State Fair? If this sounds like something you guys might be interested in, I think it'd be a great idea to add it to the IRC meeting agenda.

If 7pm this Sunday doesn't work in your schedule, feel free to bring it up on the mailing list, since that's where most of the LoCo discussion occurs.

well the state fair is in Sacramento. Im not really sure what dates it happens on. I also agree that we would need some sort of fund raiser as the booth could be expensive. I think this could be a fun way to meet and greet people and get the word out to a lot of people. In todays economy there is no better time then now to introduce a free OS. What sort of fund raiser would you have in mind?
