Cool. Is this new? I've never seen Podcasts before.

This is ep#02, ep#01 can be found via: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1431456

Enjoy! :)

#7

Cool, thanks. :D I've downloaded your pdf's, but didn't know about the Podcasts.

#8

Ok, we broke the RSS feed the other day, but it's fixed now and you get the podcast audio file! RC

Wow! The podcast just keeps getting better.:) Thanks to everyone for another excellent episode. FYI- I can understand Dave just fine. I don't know if you slowed down/fine tuned the sound, but it is clear to me. I agree with Dave, the Exaile music player is very good, IMHO "ALMOST" like Gnome's version of Amarok (not quite). A possible idea for future shows to compare audio/video players or other Linux tools (give the plus-minus and final results). I would really like to see the Christine Media Player (uses Gstreamer) go from PPA/Launchpad and Ubuntu-Tweak, to the Ubuntu default repositories. A possible Shotwell overview/review?

Yes, bring the menu icons back. It makes the search a lot quicker and easier.:) Sauerbraten? I had no idea what that game was about (sausage making;)). Dave's review and description, made it sound like a very excellent type of Quake Wars game. Thanks. I shall give it a go.

Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Alpha 3 window buttons on the left? Fine I can get used to it, but I shall be glad to hear what Mr. Shuttleworth has in store for the right side of the window, probably something good I am sure.:)

Now, for the million dollar/pound question: Are there tickets available for pre-order for Mold World?;)

Great show everyone, keep it up.:D I thank you kindly.

The RSS feed appears broken. I use iTunes to subscribe and rather than Episode 2 I got a BBC podcast.

If you're following the comments on the podcast page, you'll see I have finally upset a listener by way of my KDE 4.4 review. Following is my reply:
mirzad: I thought I made it clear that I quite liked KDE4.4! I overturned some of my previous prejudices, while I gave 4.0 the share of grief it previously earned. I'm not in the business of being anybody's fanboy; you should know by now I go for the ego-driven over-inflated opinionated rant. I expect to give Gnome 2.3 a good bashing soon. So come on, give us the review you feel it deserves; sell us on KDE 4.4. We may find we're actually in agreement! RC
#23

Now now, Robin. You're allowed to have your say, but only if it means you like KDE ;)

I used Kubuntu (Ubuntu + KDE) for a couple of years before abandoning it when KDE 4.0 arrived half-done and in ramshackle condition. Not tried it since 4.1 and with the apps I use (all GNOME based anyway), I've no intention of going back.

Keep up the good work chaps!

#24

the files sizes that i get r different than those you post. I have posted a screen shot of DTA a plug-in for firefox that i use to download everything from the net and this is the first time i have had any problem with it.. I also posted this in the comments section as well..

I tried again to download the mp3 and ogg files and i still get the wrong file sizes. I am also using a different PC to download them to also.

It's been reported that links to the incidental music have crept into the feeds...

*UPDATE* A-ha!! Wordpress has created an 'enclosure' section in the feed for just of the 2 music tracks referenced in the show-notes (why only 2 and not all of them??). Definitely NOT something I did in the posting. We had this problem twice before. I wonder that Wordpress isn't trying to be too clever for its own good.

Any-hoo; I've edited the post which should refresh the feed overnight. Keep pointing out our goofs. RC

Rob K has done a sterling job in straightening out Wordpress so the feed is now generated correctly. Apologies to anyone who had difficulty with downloads. Tell your friends on iTunes the correct audio is now in the feed. RC

Full Circle Side-Pod #4: Global Stuxnet Apocalypse

In this episode, LibreOffice, Android domination and Google Defamation

This episode is by way of a place holder until we get Ubuntu 10.10 next week. Until then, a little news, opinion and shameless plugging.

This is an extra, irregular, short-form podcast, which is intended to be a side-branch of the main Full Circle Podcast. Somewhere to put all the general technology, non-Ubuntu news and opinions, hobby-horses and general kipple that doesn’t fit anywhere else. Be prepared for a healthy dose of British sarcasm.

News: Lawsuits of a different kind, little green robots and… we’re all doomed! RC
