Well, why not aim for 10/10/10, and if for some reason some last minute bugs pop up they have another 21 days before month is over.
Thus no panicking about whether it is 10.04 or 10.05 (when on release day there were some bugs and people were fearing it might not be released until May and how that would impact name).
October 28 is cutting it close to the end of the month if for marketing purposes you want to keep proper 10.10 (year/month) on schedule.

I don't mind gimmicky release dates, but it shouldn't be done at the expense of crucial bug-squashing time.

We have the same time available to do development and testing as we did for 9.04 which turned out very well. I doubt it will impact anything severely to move the release ahead like this.
10.10.10 sounds good to me.

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OtherProjectSchedules should be changed to same date. Still says Oct. 28
Other good news is 10.04.1 is scheduled for July 29. Hopefully get lots of bugs fixed by then.
