Just a little reminder, that if you want some package removed or included in the default install, do not ask it here, instead file a bug-report or mail to ubuntu-devel mailing list.

Forum isn't the right place to make those request's

you are right of course but sharing and commenting here about our wishes is a good starting point to lowering the wrong requested bugs.

i think people find it easier to be made a fool here rather than in the dev mailing list :)

that is, it is easier to test whether people like your idea or not here and when you see that you are not a fool, but people actually support your proposition, you can go and ask the devs

Sorry for the blunt first post. This thread was meant for postings that demands one of the above action for application X.

And generally to remind that developers hardly reads the postings in here and are unaware of general opinion, unless forwarded to mailing list or bug filed.

Discussing which application should be default in the end user point of view, is a needed. /* as long as it doesn't involve comments like "it sucks, meh like this more" */

Agree to a certain point, the other half is that the newer userbase is little lost, to where this idea should be expressed...
