once I've donwnloaded lightning.xpi to desktop, how do I install from inside thunderbird?
thanks matthew
tools -> addons -> install
THanks - now I've got Lightning installed. It doesn't appear that I can edit or add events to my google calendar, but can view them. Is there a way to do this?

no idea, i don't use lightning... try asking in the general support forums...
I've tried this release, and it crashes thunderbird when I try to save an event. I've also tried 1.0b2, and I am wary of trying any of the release candidates.
