Bold type for unread please

I bought a new computer, installed Ubuntu/thunderbird and I'm trying to get unread emails to appear in bold type untill opened - as they did previously. I've been into edit>prefs>advanced and unticked 'mark all messages as read' But no luck. My eyesight isn't good and it would be a great help to be able to see what's waiting to be read. Advanced thanks for help in this..........sarum

mmm this happens for me by default... i don't even know how one would turn that off. which version of ubuntu, and which version of thunderbird are you using, and did you get tb from ubuntu repos, or from the ubuntuzilla repos?

Thanks for your reply. I installed LTS 10.4 myself. I didn't like Evolution so I down loaded Tb; so it must be a new version. I notice that a right click on Evolution Inbox gives an option of 'marking messages as read' But having marked them there's no option to reverse it. Anyway it's Tb that I'd like to set up...............Thanks again...sarum

Found it! Right click on 'In Box' > properties > check restore defaults. sarum.I compacted the in box
