Hello guys ,

I have a few questions about our next round of testing

If i understand the new shell Unity will Require 3D support so how is Ubuntu going to make this work

with all of the past versions 3D support and drivers did not make it untill the very end

are Video drivers going to be worked on first this time around

im just not sure how this is going to work

thanks for your input and help with my question.

It doesn't look like there is a new xorg version thins time around, so graphics drivers shouldn't be a problem.

The open source AMD/ATI drivers support 3D out of the box, but we'll have to wait and see what the devs do with Nvidia drivers.

I'm using the nouveau driver and it supports desktop effects wonderfully. Why is it not used by default?

the nouveau are the default nvidia drivers, but there isn't a 3d driver included . I was planning on using them for this round of testing, but I'm getting frequent lockups, where I don't get them using the closed source driver.
