i upgraded from ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 and from then the dvd device is not showing.when i insert the cd/dvd the led flashes and running sound is heard but there is no display of the content of the cd/dvd.. further to add even during booting i am unable to get the cd/dvd detected.changed my bios but no fruit

I am not sure!There may be a physical fault too!Did you tried with some other os?Let me know! regards gautham
