I'll post a new thread to keep things interesting. I'm not sure for how much longer I'll be with Ubuntu. I've been with Ubuntu for a while as my main desktop environment (I think 7.04, dual boot earlier--replaced PCLOS+XP) but I'm quite worried about the upcoming release with Gnome shell and Unity desktop. Also I noted a Grub2 bug that was squashed in Ubuntu alphas, but I could not find it reported upstream. I think on the main boxes, I will go Debian Squeeze for stability, and play with #! and sid on the netbook/laptop for fun. If I miss a few weeks of updates, and the whole thing breaks on those, it's no biggie.
A new thread! But maybe my last.

I am curious about it as well. I played around with unity a little on this desktop but I did not really like it so much. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to use a standard gnome interface.
Are you folks still involved with Ubuntu?
