Anyone try Mandriva lately?

I absolutely fell in love with Mandriva Spring 08, but got away from it to try other things, but was wondering how things are going in the mandriva camp lately. How is the community mood, and are the new releases on target?

I will probably get around to installing it once 11.04 is released, and I can free up a hard drive. But was just wondering what others thought.

I had a look at 2010.2 recently (Gnome version) and quite liked what I saw.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I have not really had time to play around with it.

I'm running KDE version of 2010.2 on my netbook. I like it and haven't had any major problems, though there is a weird issue with firefox and animated GIFs (seems to be due to an inconsistency between system version of Cairo and the one firefox was built against).

I've been lurking on the Mandriva forums a bit since I installed. There seems to be a bit of resentment there revolving around lack of official response to certain issues.

I'm quite happy with 2010.2 and I've been getting regular updates, so I don't personally have any complaints about it.

I watch Mandriva Cooker software repos, but I don't actually use Mandriva.

I just wish there was a 64bit version of Mandriva One.

I tried to do a dual-boot install with mandriva,... and failed twice! (Although I think I know what the reason is.) I'll attempt a third installation, and if I still don't succeed I'll try OpenSUSE instead.
