I had to use DOS 7 so I could install windows 3.1 in virtual box. Don't ask me why, I just felt like doing it.

DOS 6.20 is the last of the independent Microsoft Disk Operating Systems that had nothing to do with Windows. DOS 7 only existed for Windows' needs. There is a grand history of computer science that culminated in DOS 6.20. I still have copies of the installation disks and keep an old computer around to remember the old days when I helped create an entire telephone company around it. We use FoxPro 2.6 for DOS exclusively for the entire international company.
The trend I see Ubuntu going away from ease of use with the onset of version 11.04 is appalling and sad.
I still use FreeDOS sometimes to play old games. Using MS-DOS is a pain now because of all of the hunting down of drivers required to actually be able to use it.
