A problem with dual gpu's

With an Intel i3 dual core, quad thread, integrated graphics, and AMD discreted graphics processor...you'd think I wouldn't have to go to 2D to get a text box to respond in a timely manner.

Currently, all other graphics, typing, windows, etc response time is fine. ONLY when typing in the Unity search box are things slow.

Sorry, but I'm very confused:

• My two previous threads weren't related. That is, how do I (or anyone) know the slow text response time in the Unity search box is due to my laptop having dual graphics? All other graphics response times are sharp, all other text entry response times are sharp, and everything I've checked shows that I have the Intel integrated graphics working (but not the AMD graphics, and I can't switch.).
• I didn't start this thread. Someone else moved a single post of mine into this sub-forum. And I didn't ask for help in the post that got moved to this thread, I made a statement in response to a suggestion that I have graphics cards, and shouldn't need to switch to 2D Unity. And that response got moved here.

Again, sorry, but now I'm very confused.
