You may want to get a hold of one of the community liaisons, Jono Bacon or Jorge Castro and see if something can be arranged.

Design Feedback on Unity goes on the ayatana mailing list.

i personally would like to see a third beta just because of the problematic tendencies of the new Unity interface.

My impression of Ayatana is that they're the people who do Unity, or have a hotline to the people who do (read: invest a substantial amount of their time in developing Unity, either through programming or professional design).

This forum I perceive as a feedback-forum where us humble peons like myself can provide feedback, feature-suggestions and mockups for the Ayatana-folk to peruse in a centralized place, instead of having to sift through the café.

Please note: Ubuntu Developers do not usually read the forums, to report a problem found in Oneiric please report the bug in Launchpad.Over the years some developers have made the effort to post in the Development Forum, some to get feedback, some just giving a FYI, and for the most part it is appreciated and well met.

Unfortunately, too many times, they are met with rants and complaints. Even when a question is answered, the reaction is contrary to the facts presented. I presume that these serious developers find that their time is more well spent doing real work on their projects, not enduring a hailstorm of criticism. I've seen some very intelligent and informed posters run off by all the "noise" that gets off topic many times.

I've always loved Ubuntu because it tries to be "cutting edge", It's not afraid of being different, and is always moving forward. Now, to be honest, I haven't liked everything that has happened or changed, but for what I get free for nothing ($$$) I really have no complaints. The Community, eventually, gives the workarounds/solutions for the most egregious flaws. Hell, I honestly look at Ubuntu/Linux as a work in progress. I don't expect it to be perfect!

There are just too many differences of opinion to please everyone. Ubuntu/Shuttleworth has a vision, I got on the bus. and I have been riding for a few years and I'm enjoying the ride.

If one wants their voice heard, Take the example of Kansasnoob and get involved on Launchpad, Antanya, the mailing lists. Become involved where the Dev's hang out, be prepared for a learning curve and present yourself in a professional manner for best results.

I really don't expect or want Devs spending time on the forums when their time is so much more valuable spent elsewhere. This forum as a whole is for HELP! This development forum is for discussion of and users/crazies helping each other work through the next release.

Don't expect what is said and done here to be heard elsewhere.

My apologies, but sometimes there is need for perspective.

They say they don't, but I think it's pretty silly. It takes all but a few clicks for them to read these forums. They could skim the topics in 5 minutes to get an idea of what people think. I know some of them do though, and +1 to those guys :)
