I would also like to add my support for philinux's application. He has helped me several times in the past. I use his guide "Known Lucid Lynx issues/bugs with workarounds" to fix resolution issues every time I re-install (whether it's Lucid Lynx or not). Good luck.

When Philinux posts in a thread you can take his input to the bank, it is all good and is a deserving applicant for Ubuntu Membership. To quote in Wike page "I set about to help others the best I could". He accomplishes his task on a daily basis.
