I like ocelots, but Oneiric Ocelot sounds like it might be ocelot pickled in jelly. It is also hard to say the word without coming across like a stroke victim.
How about a nice active word to give that friendly ocelot a bit of personality - like outrageous, obstreperous or obstinate.

It is just a name. After 6 months we have a new astonishing animal.
Oneric is dreamy, and thats what 11.10 better be.

I truncate everything. For instance, I usually refer to Ubuntu as Ubu.
Thus, Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot becomes Ubu OO.
Simple pimple!

Unfortunately (or fortunately) release names are chosen by Mark Shuttleworth and set to stone. Just imagine if the community had the choice, we would never agree on one name
I really don't care about the name... I refer to it as 11.10 :)

True. It's a control thing. ;) Shame because there is a name suggestions thread here with really good ones. I am currently leaning towards Onerous.
I think it's fair that the guy who invested most of his fortune in the project gets to choose the codename. ;)

It's not a matter of fair. It's a matter of "ubuntu". What makes you think he's invested most of his fortune in Ubuntu?
