It sounds like they'll now be included in future iso-testing so I may, not sure yet, change my preferred testing iso to Lubuntu :D

That is a very pleasant surprise. Was hoping that would happen but thought it may be put off another release.

I didn't really understand why it didn't come in last round. This is great.

As for the 64bit version I really hope so. It is, however aimed at older hardware and so it may not be a real urgent thing. I would hope that it will happen, at least for the LTS, as it is a very nice OS and getting nicer all the time. Even if you have a fairly powerful box it is nice to have the power directed to programs you may be running that need it rather than powering eye candy that you rarely see.

Besides, it doesn't look that "plain" anyway. Nice looking little bugger.

The ISO does not freeze my box and screw my grub with a crash like the Ubuntu ones doe either. I kind of like that.

I think they deserve it after all the hard work. Congrats... Lets just hope i continues to go strong.

Because at this stage it's basically 11.04 + some updates.

Running Lubuntu 10.10 on my netbook is the first time I've experienced something remotely resembling "speed." Hats off to the Lubuntu devs. Now hopefully Lubuntu will get some much needed love in the polish department, and hopefully integration with non-LXDE programs will improve a little bit (it's already quite decent).

I tried out Lubuntu after hearing it was joining the official *buntu family and I like it quite a bit. I can't wait for the 11.10-based version, at which point development on the elusive native GMA500 driver might have finally produced something workable for inclusion by default.

The Ubuntu family is complete. Unity/GNOME = Ubuntu, KDE = Kubuntu, XFCE = Xubuntu and now LXDE = Lubuntu.

What happened to the Fubuntu (Fluxbox) and the Enlightenment version?

Fubuntu and Enbuntu didn't have many fans and there was a lack of interest in developing those desktop environments for official endorsement by Canonical.

Well, maybe in lubu 11.10 you avoid cursing adopters with the Alsa curse.

I tested a persistent USB flash drive with lubu 11.04 and will probably forgo it, like I did Puppy Linux. Sticking bamboo under the fingernails is preferable to achieving sound when the developer decides that the user should do it.

Xubu dinna do that to me.
