I installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my Asus K42Jr. It seems all are okay before I installed the Video Card driver (ATI Mobility Radeon 5470). After I installed the driver, it flickers every time I move a window. Even the dash when sliding is a bit lag. In other words, every object's movement on my Ubuntu 11.04 are not smooth compared to the time that the driver is not yet installed.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Compiz doesn't seem to be working with this ATI card either. I tried the proprietary drivers and the built in ones and neither one of them can make compiz work with the standard gnome interface.
