Hey guys. I've just made a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bits. Then I want to install Ubuntu 11.04 but during the installation of Ubuntu, the screen turns into white and black and the CD stops running. I've attached the screen shot when the installation failed.

By the way, this is my rig detail: ASUS G60JX NVidia GeForce GTS 360M Intel i7 Core 1.6Ghz Windows 7 Ulitmate 64-bits

Hi Prankerio,

My son has a new machine with the I 7 and I've been unable to get the Live CD to load on it either. Did you try the Live cd and did it work?

Don't know that I have the answer but if you got the live cd to work it should install.

Thx for replying Kc =D

Live CD? I did burn the .iso ubuntu file in a cd and successfully loaded it during the reboot. Is that what you mean?

#4

I wanted to know if when you boot from the cd you get to the desktop?

#5

Nope. Not at all. I was so excited to use ubuntu...

there is an alternative installation in case of graphics-card issues: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/alternative-download it is a text mode intaller, but pretty easy to do.
