Gnome 3.2.1 will be released on Wednesday

Clutter 1.8.2 is available already. Also Gnome-shell 3.2.1 and Mutter 3.2.1 are ready. You can download all these from the Ricotz testing PPA.

This may be imagination, but my opinion is that Gnome-shell 3.2.1 runs faster and smoother with my Nvidia 285GTX and nvidia-current 285.05.09.

I can definitely say at least that Gnome 3.2 is quicker even than Gnome 3.0 was, and that was pretty nippy. 3.2 seems to use less resources too, and is much less demanding than Unity. Gnome 3 goes from strength to strength then.

I haven't given up on Gnome 3. It is really snappy!

I agree, on my old lappy connected to a 23inch led monitor, unity has noticeably lower fps when dragging windows around than gnome-shell. I also think apps start faster in gnome-shell. Maybe my imagination??

I'm on a fairly fast desktop with a decent video card and I see the same thing .

I notice this too. biggest difference on my laptop (i5 460m, intel ironlake graphics) is resizing windows in gnome-shell is totally smooth, but if I use "normal" window resize in unity/compiz its a laggy mess. Why can't compiz get this right still?

gnome-shell generally seems more responsive all around.
