Well here we are again. I'm trying to run the PCSX2 binaries for Linux. Upon running it on terminal:

"Illegal instruction"

Just that.

I have ALL dependencies satisfied.

I'm using Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 i386.

Any help?

Bump.

Several questions.

  • Why are you still running 9.10?
  • How did you install pcsx2? Did you build it yourself from source?
  • Is "Illegal instruction" the entirety of the terminal output? If not, could you maybe post the entire terminal output?
  • What type of hardware are you running?

I bet you installed it from source, It happens to me just like whenever I install something from source. 50% got serious problem, That's why I prefer (.deb) file.

No, I did not install from source. I downloaded the binaries for Linux, I said it in the first post. Just allow executing as a program and then execute.

Yes, that is the entirety of the outuput. "Illegal Instruction".

I am still running 9.10 because it hasn't failed me yet. It's like asking a person why he is still using that dumb iPhone 2 and not using iPhone 4S.

I run a ****** computer. GeForce 4 MX 128 vRAM, 1 GB RAM, 2.00 GHZ Single Core AMD Athlon XP 2400+.
