Sometime in recent weeks, the NetworkManager service appears to have decided it should no longer autostart.

I've never really looked into upstart, but as I understand it - the services don't start so much on runlevels anymore as prereqs. Can a guru point me in the direction of how I can determine what the prereqs for network-manager are - so that I can troubleshoot this further?

When I start the service manually after logging in, it works fine.

hey you are not alone with this issue :(, im still trying to understand it. On the same machine i've no problem with quantal lubuntu, but with ubuntu i386 here & a nvidia card.

It seems to work when i ping an url, but apt-get and the browser cant connect.
