a new rhythmbox (0.9.5) came out, check here: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/rhythmbox-devel/2006-June/000017.html

would be a nice improvement on breezy's current 0.9.3 (now two versions behind :-\" )

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=153402, also it wouldn't be possible as 0.9.3 is in Dapper.

i can't really get it. are you suggesting that i should file a bug and mark it at as "breezy backports"?

or are you suggesting that link you provided me contains some information about rhythmbox being technically impossible to backport to breezy?

the fact that 9.3 is now in breezy is mentioned even in my post...

I think this won't happen since breezy is still using gstreamer0.8

I succesfully compiled RB 0.9.5 and new music-appelet for Dapper. For Dapper try http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=200762

Rhythmbox 0.9.5 itself still supports GStreamer 0.8 and the versions of the Gnome libraries that are on Breezy (in fact with the exception of totem-plparser it should on Hoary too). However some of the shiny new features are "optional", and don't support older versions.

Thanks for the information! New art display plugin and ipod write support are great :)

Is there a request to backport RB 0.9.5 to Dapper ? It will be a great upgrade for Dapper.
