I totally borked my 13.04 desktops (linux 3.6.6 & 3.7-rc4 -- Unity & GS), this morning, by installing "caffeine-indicator" in Raring. I even killed LightDM. LoL! :D
Thank heavens for "ppa-purge"!
I'll see if I can break it again with 3.7.0-0... ;)

I'm probably going to sticks with 12.10+PPAs until the first major breakage passes. Gonna be a bit more conservative this cycle.
I have a separate /home, but these breakages tend to hit at the worst possible times.

Haven't seen much with the installs vs. the apt-source raring change. I do run 2 partitions and alternate updates/installs since things do break.
So far, apt-cache search linux-image hasn't turned up anything past 3.5.0-17 here in the States. Patience, Hortense.

To be fair, it was made for Quantal -- didn't have anything available for Raring.
sudo ppa-purge ppa:noobslab/indicators...took care of it, if you feel like rolling the dice. ;)

There are a lot of packages being held-back in 'raring-proposed' right now -- enough that I don't feel comfortable doing a partial upgrade.
I'll be patient for a day, or so, but I'm thinking about disabling 'raring-proposed', especially if a lot of packages are gonna be put on hold...
I installed 3.7 in my Precise-Nadia Mint 14 installation. It works very well. No crashes. All apps work.

On a new install I did yesterday on one of my regular machines the 3.7.0-0 kernel appears to be acting benign in a sense that Unity 3D does not have the snappiness that some of the Quantal alphas had. There also seems to be a slowdown between disk-data transfer times - it just may be the old Maxtor I am using but it worked just fine before. I'll try an EIDE.

Due to over-beating of 1+ year old install (all time testing, more than 20 WM installed, Mate was the last straw that it struggled with for a week...) I reinstalled...
- Raring-daily LiveCD boots into native install. Surprise... Unusable... ;(
- Install from Quantal: great experience, everything works out-of-the-box...
- Upgraded to Raring to learn that: linux-image linux-image-generic linux-headers-generic are not installed. I've installed them. Was I wrong?

No, it is not off, it works, just unauthenticated... I've just installed 3.7 again... ;)

It is working well here zika. Also the daily USB install is actually installable to hdd. Does not come with 3.7.0-0, just 3.5.x-x. I'm using MAIN server and/or Canada.
I got the unauthenticated error a while back but it appeared to heal itself.

I don´t have any chance to start the machine 3.7 kernel, system freezes immediately. 3.5 kernel works without problems.

update, dist-upgrade this morning and 3.7 is included for the first time. I'll check to see if it boots and is still a Firefox memory hog on my pc's as reported in this forum.
Just rebooted: % memory Firefox 3.7.0.0 about 12%.
% memory Firefox 3.5.7.0-17 24%.
BTW, 1 GB netbook, 1.6 gHz 32 bit dual processors.
