Image Viewer/Shotwell/Gimp will not re-process hi-res1200dpi images

As stated above, I scanned some articles at 1200dpi using simple scan and those files cannot be processed. Shotwell will load the original image but when magnified will crash. Apport reports image-viewer as crashing- but will not send bug-report.

What is the command to send bug report for image-viewer?

Rescanning the image in Ubuntu 10.10, all worked well.

Here is a pic of a Maxtor hardrive bearing seal @1200dpi X3 using simple-scan.
