Now, I would like to apply for Ubuntu Membership.

Readers might be concerned that this ended up as an upstream issue at kernel.org and therfore doesn't count as "Ubuntu" contribution. O.K., fair enough, however the issue started at the forums and I was just following and sticking with it until it was solved.

I wouldn't think that anyone who knows how opensource works would consider that as not contributing to Ubuntu.

I agree, but just for completeness:

My worry that lead to that sentence from my wiki page, was from here , specifically this:> Ubuntu also benefits from contributions to upstream projects and Debian specifically. However, while contributions to those projects are appreciated and worth being recognized, involvement in downstream Ubuntu is required for membership. After all it's all about *Ubuntu membership*.

My worry that lead to that sentence from my wiki page, was from here , specifically this: For people looking for membership from other contributions that is a fair point, however membership via forum is for forum contribution - as we'd not go looking on other forums but this Ubuntu one - then you're worry is unfounded :)

Your application here will be on the contribution you have made to Ubuntu via the forum as are all here.
