I want a dual boot to have both Windows 8 and Ubuntu
I have tried with USB stick, nothing.
I tried with DVD, nothing.
Windows does not help me.
My computer is a Gateway

If I prefer to only have the Ubuntu,,, what can I do?

Not sure why you posted this here. Seems like this should be a support question.
You haven't given much to go by. So, not knowing much, I'd want to know if EUFI is enabled on your system? If so, you might want to try disabling it. Doesn't mean you have to *leave* it disabled, but leastways you'll know what the issue is.
