The way Cinnamon handles workspaces isn't to my liking. Does anyone know fixes or workarounds for these issues? (Cinnamon 2.0.12 on the Mint 16 RC):
- When I create the number of workspaces I want to use, those workspaces are persistent between reboots. However, if I select the option to relaunch open applications after a logout/reboot, all the applications are re-opened in the first workspace, not in the workspaces they previously occupied.
- If a browser is open in one workspace and I click on a link in an application on another workspace, the browser is moved to the current workspace and removed from the workspace I want it to occupy. I want the link to open in the browser but I do not want the browser to be moved. Nor do I want the display to move to the browser in its assigned workspace. I want the links to open in the browser and be available when I switch to the browser's workspace.
- The Workspace Switcher panel applet shows only numbers. If you edit the names of your workspaces, the switcher does not use those names.
- I can't find a way to have all open windows reflected in the panel on *all* workspaces. The panel only shows the apps that are open in the current workspace. I want the panel to always display all windows in all workspaces. Then, when I click on a minimzed window in the panel, I want the display to move to that window's workspace rather than being brought to the current workspace.
MATE can do most of these things, but Cinnamon is a bit more aesthetically pleasing, to my eyes.
