Why we are not in tapatalk ?

I have installed taptalk in the android device of mine. But I cant find Ubuntuforums over there but surprisingly I found Kubuntuforums but nothing about Ubuntuforums.

why are we not in there ? That support should start providing from us or by tapatalk ?

Yes it was - and then we had the security breach. :(

After the forum upgrade from vb3 to vb4 last February we put Tapatalk on the shopping list for plugins and it was duly installed. It needed testing before being available for all but before we managed to get around to arranging that, the bad guys broke in and the forum software had to be completely re-installed from scratch. It looks as though the Tapatalk plugin was never re-installed and none of us noticed because we had been distracted by the fallout from the security breach. Sorry about that.

Off the top of my head and this is not Forum Council policy. We'd probably need to discuss this plugin again. If there is still a real appetite for using Tapatalk we'd have to ask Canonical sysadmins to re-install it and that is quite a (necessary) bureaucratic process. Every plugin has the potential to introduce a security hole and although it was approved earlier this year, this time around it I'm sure it would be looked at with a gimlet eye. So - comments from Ubuntu Forums Members please.

One last thought - a few weeks before the security breach someone complained that their tablet had told them that they could have the Tapatalk app for $4.99 when they visited the forum. Which just goes to prove the old adage about pleasing some of the people.

I personally wouldn't use it, but if the majority of our member base would like it then I don't see why it shouldn't be reinstalled. Well remembered about the tablet prompt coffeecat. No matter what you do someone will always complain.

I agree with s.fox on this. I don't really fancy viewing the forum on the screen of my phone (as I don't have a tablet), but it would be a nice addition.

+1. How many members should request this plug in before asking for it to be reinstalled? I doubt that we would get a majority of the users asking for it: so majority of the users total, active users, or other type of majority? So that goes back to my question after the +1.

I would like to see Tapatalk as well, I think it could enhance the forum experience.

Honestly I don't know how much I will use it but it would be nice to have.

I would like to see Ubuntu forums in Tapatalk. I have checked it with other forums sites and they are really awesome with tapatalk.

I can't see any mod tools on the mobile version.
