I have a network of Windows XP boxes that I want to convert to Ubuntu. Since this is a medical clinic, HIPAA compliance is a necessity. As an OS, is Ubuntu HIPAA compliant?

I hope so, as kissing windows goodbye would be a wonderful, empowering experience, I am sure!

You would probably be better off going to your HIPAA compliance officer and asking about it as HIPAA is not one set of features, it's an entire process dedicated to ensuring PHI is protected.

This is what HHS has to say about the OS used.

Nobody on this forum is likely qualified to provide a definitive answer and this is not a forum for discussions of US Law.
