Thanks but I don't know what that PPA installation entails, or what it would do to my Ubuntu? Does it turn it into Mint? << not being a smart a** I don't honestly know...
I am tempted to try Mint since I like the DE better than Unity, but it seems like hardware that worked in Ubuntu didn't work when I ran the Mint Live CD.
It seemed to me that Mint had a lot of programs installed already that didn't need 'add-ons' to make them work. IE: It looked to me as if proprietary software was included in Mint that wasn't in Ubuntu. I liked that, but again some hardware didn't work immediately the way it did in Ubuntu, so I am on the fence so to speak. I actually have Mint installed on a spare HD if I want to take the time to change the connectors to use that drive. I'm just not sure of it is all I can say right now. I would hope that with help from this forum things can be made to function as they do now in Ubuntu.
Many thanks to all! :D
