I have problem. I have dual boot severall os' including linux mint and i cannot set root password I dont know how to fix this.

user user # passwd
Enter new UNIX password: 
Retype new UNIX password: 
passwd: password updated successfully
user user # passwd
Enter new UNIX password: 
Retype new UNIX password: 
passwd: password updated successfully
